All the renovations are completed as of Nov 2024 and the entire inside of the cathedral is now available for visits. Don't miss the surrounding complex as well. A must see if you're in Yerevan!

Even with the scaffolding and not being able to enter the church the site is beautiful and worth a visit if in the area. It’s free to enter and seeing the ceiling of the frescoes at the main entrance is really quite stunning the restoration work is clearly very important and timely due to the intricacy of the work. Definitely impressive.

I was waiting for the renovation of the cathedral to be finished for many years already and I was happy to know that it was finally over and that it matched my visit to Armenia. It is really beautiful and is worth visiting. Knowing that it is the oldest cathedral makes it extra special.
