This small museum is filled with an amazing collection of Picassos - I don't recall ever seeing so many together and 125 works by Paul Klee, a room full of Chagall paintings and sketches that Chagall gave to Mr. Rosengart ( including the artists palette!), and many more modern artists such as Braque, Leger, Modigliani. It was such a treat and so interesting to know that this was one family's collection, now gifted to the city of Lucerne and all who visit there.

A worthy collection and a very interesting history of the creation of the museum. In the museum you can watch a documentary about it. The ticket costs 20 francs. Unfortunately, there is no audio guide. There is a map with a QR code, but the text is written in very small print, it is inconvenient to read from a phone.

What a gem! I am so very happy to have stayed in a hotel nearby and was able to visit this museum, I loved every inch of it! I try to visit museums in places that I travel to, whenever possible, and in reading about this museum, I learned that they have many pieces by Picasso, which I was very interested in seeing, in addition to other artists. There are also many candid photographs of Picasso, which were very interesting to see, in addition to a historic meeting room with movie you can watch to learn about this history behind the museum. I explored from top floor (3), to basement, taking in each artist's work. I spent about 3+ hours there. There is an elevator if needed. I spent about $30 CAD for the entrance fee. Lucia at the entrance desk was wonderful to chat with, she was extremely helpful and assisted me with some purchases of prints and a tube to keep them safe in. Thank you for making my visit even more enjoyable! I highly recommend the visit, and it's in a great neighborhood to shop and dine too.
