It's free after 6pm weekday. You should get there about 5pm for the free line. It's a big and 3-floors museo, so it might take 1 hours at least. You shouldn't forget visit the shopping inside of the museo. There is really good something you can buy. In the other hand, you can make friend when you wait for entering :) Lastly, I am not sure if it's best in Madrid, so just popular. Enjoy!

An important museum for Madrid and Spain in general. Every capital should have such an art gallery. Big, beautiful, epic and picturesque. And after 18:00 free entry, for this special thanks, I have not seen such in any museum. Also, photography and video shooting are prohibited, this is strictly controlled and you will not be allowed to take anything, but there is a logical reason for this. Recommended.

Beautiful!!! Great collection of the most famous art pieces in the world. Take at least the audio guide for more value. We had the English one and you can choose a series of tours. 1, 2, 3 hours etc. Very handy. First minutes had to get used to the user interface and the mapping of the museum and the rooms but after that it was easy.
