Chocolatería San Ginés is definitely worth a visit! The chocolate was rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. While the churros themselves were a bit of a letdown—they were thin, slightly cold, and didn’t taste particularly fresh—the overall experience was still really lovely. The space is super cute, very clean, and the service was quick and efficient. A charming stop if you’re exploring Madrid, especially for the atmosphere and the iconic hot chocolate.

This is on many must try lists for Madrid. Considering churros come from Spain, I was expecting more. I’ve had better churros in North America. These for me were too dry. While the point is dipping them in the chocolate, which is good, I still would prefer the dough to be a more softer pastry then dry and crunchy like it was. Nevertheless, it is an experience.

We visited San Ginés in Madrid after watching Somebody Feed Phil, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Yes, it’s crowded for good reason and the service is incredibly fast and efficient. The downstairs seating area is especially cozy and charming. The churros were out of this world – crispy, light, and perfect with the rich hot chocolate. We tried a few other items too, and everything was amazing. The quality, the atmosphere, and the legacy of this place make it a must-visit. We loved it so much that we went twice during our stay in Madrid. Thanks, Phil, for pointing us to this iconic gem where you can truly taste the tradition and history in every bite.
