If you’re looking for something fun and unique to do while in Kyoto, this is definitely it! It’s about a 20 - 30 minute uphill walk to get to the top of the mountain where the monkey park is, so make sure to wear good shoes. It’s 800¥ to enter and no reservations needed, and if you want to feed them with the food they provide, it’s a small cost (I can’t remember how much but it’s cheap). The monkeys are adorable and they’re everywhere! Be sure to only admire them from afar, don’t try to pet them because they’re wild animals. Aside from the monkeys there’s also wonderful views of Kyoto down below. We comfortably spent about 2 - 2.5 hours here including the hikes.

This was such a fun experience. From seeing the monkeys up close and from afar and also feeding the monkeys. It was a great experience overall and well worth the little hike up there as well as the cost to access the park. It was quite busy, but it was also very fun at the end of the day. would highly suggest going here. Tickets can be purchased at the gate. There is no wait time. The hike up is about 15-20 mins. It’s a pretty steep hike. It’s important to note that you should leave space between you and the monkey at all times as they do get violent. The view at the top of the park is stunning.

Short and sweet experience once you get to the top (it's around 15 minutes of a decent incline to get up there). Monkeys don't seem aggressive and I was able to get some good photos of them with the city in the background. The babies were so cute. Worth the price, even with the crowds.
