Beautiful sanctuary where monkeys get fed and taken care of. There is a enclosure for rescued and disabled monkeys too. Easy to buy tickets at self serve kiosks. They can improve the signs so that visitors can find the entry easier.

Beautiful forest full of nature, culture, and cheeky monkeys. The Monkey Forest in Ubud is one of Bali’s most popular attractions — and it’s easy to see why. It’s not just a tourist spot, but a sacred place with deep spiritual significance for the Balinese people. The lush forest is home to hundreds of long-tailed macaques who roam freely among ancient temples, moss-covered statues, and towering trees. The atmosphere is peaceful and green, with stone pathways leading you through dense jungle areas, rivers, and beautiful traditional architecture. The monkeys are everywhere — playful, clever, and sometimes a little sneaky! They may try to grab your water bottle, sunglasses, or snacks, so keep your belongings secure and avoid direct eye contact. Despite that, the experience is incredible. It feels like stepping into another world where nature, wildlife, and culture meet in harmony. The sanctuary is clean, well-maintained, and easy to explore at your own pace. Staff members are positioned throughout the area and do a good job monitoring the monkeys and helping visitors. There are also signs reminding you of safety tips, which are worth reading before you go in. Whether you're an animal lover, nature enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful yet fun place to explore, the Monkey Forest is a must-visit while in Ubud.
