MAGNIFICENT TEMPLE. Hard to know which road to take when driving there by motorbike when alone. Roads aren't to bad except for the fact theirs hardly any signs at all along the way. Was there at 7am to beat the crowds and was going to go to the top but would have had to wait til 11.30am so booked the ground level only tour for 400,000rupiah. A bit of a rip off. I thought I would have at least got up to the second tier for that kind of money. Well maintained and clean beautiful site. No real complaints except for the above. Buy a ticket in advance so you can get up to the top is my recommendation

Always a good place to visit even now the ticket is expensive but we managed very well The temple is more in good condition and with a limit of visitors and time to visit makes you feel the ambience. I suggest you come to tample in the early morning or in the afternoon at 15.30 and it will be good to buy tickets in advance by website and don't be late to come based on schedule that mentioned in ticket

I just visited Borobudur Temple with my wife in late April and it was a terrific experience. This is our second visit here as we came in 2008 I believe. The temple is just as beautiful and awe inspiring the second time but the biggest difference now is the organization and enjoyment of the experience. As Indonesia has begun limiting the number of people that can climb the structure each day and at a given time, it has made the experience so much better. When we first went almost twenty years ago, it was a bit of a mess. So many people on the temple, it was not peaceful and taking a decent photo was nearly impossible. We felt the new setup was very well done. Shuttles take you to the gathering point for your tour and then you shuttle back to the exit. The grounds are beautiful, green, and well maintained. You still exit through the gift shop but even that is much nicer than previous years. It is hot, so wear sunblock, hat, and be respectful in how you dress. I highly recommend making the effort to visit this incredible place.
