Whilst humble and well hidden, you know if you’re visiting George Town that you will walk by it - go in, it doesn’t cost much, yet you will learn plenty about the beautiful tradition of Batik, a short film (don’t mind the quality, it is old but very interesting) will explain the lengthy and complex process. Once you know, your appreciation for this fine work that only patience can truly overcome is on another level - support the arts and craft, Batik is part of the culture and the ancient ways of it are most impressive, and the actual paintings inside are incredible

Really great museum - I was brought here by my girlfriend but actually found it really interesting too. Very friendly guide welcomed us in and showed us a short and actually useful video (unlike many of these museum videos) about how Batik was made, and specifically a piece in their collection. There's then three floors of various Batik designs from Malaysia with a small international section on floor three at the back. Definitely worth the trip to understand more about this art form and appreciate various artists' utilisation.

Impressive small museum if you want to learn about something new. The man working there was really good taking time to explain the techniques to us. There are 3 floors and it costs 10RM per person. The variety is nice and we enjoyed the ones using the technique which gives a look of being cracked. I knew nothing about Batik art and pleased I widened my horizons
