Not much to see here but it's more the atmosphere, you can take photos of your family or friends behind a stack of sandbags and there are plenty of tourist shops where you can buy a history of checkpoint charlie and the Berlin wall. Very easy to find, there is a bus stop within 100 meters. Get a map and my advice is to buy a bvg transport ticket.

Start your visit by reading the informational boards to get some background on the history of the checkpoint. Once you’re familiar with the context, head over to the photo spot with the soldier figure and take a wide shot. Then move on to the checkpoint cabin for the official photo opportunity. Finally, don’t miss the iconic sign reading: “You are leaving the American sector.” Tips: Watch out for traffic. Cars and bikes still pass directly through the area, so be cautious when standing in the middle of the road. Avoid scams. Some people may approach you with a petition and later demand a €10 “donation.” Don’t fall for it. Stay alert. Pickpockets are active here. A common scam involves someone waving a magazine to distract you while another person grabs valuables. Never leave your camera, phone, or money visible or unattended on tables. For such a well-known attraction, I was surprised to see how outdated and temporary the signage feels. It lacks clear organization, and traffic remains unrestricted despite the high number of tourists. The site is historically interesting, but there’s a lot of untapped potential to make it a better experience for both locals and visitors.

Well worth a visit. We have to remember Berlin as a city and Germany as a country have a future and therefore much of what was here has been replaced by new developments. There is a section of the wall and very good large scale high res photos adjacent free to see at the exhibition. Great you can take photos and read about the checkpoint and its history. A definite must see
