A grand Protestant cathedral with imperial ambitions, Berlin Cathedral was completed in 1905 under Kaiser Wilhelm II, aiming to rival St. Peter’s in Rome. Its baroque style feels almost out of place in Berlin’s mostly modern or minimalist skyline. The interior is richly decorated, though some might find it overwhelming rather than spiritual. Interestingly, the crypt beneath holds over 90 sarcophagi of Prussian royals—making it as much a dynastic monument as a religious one.

Beautiful cathedral, with good tours. You can go up to the dom and have great views, but beware, the stairs are challenging! The climb is easy (handles and good footing) but it's a lot of stairs. Catacombs are closed right now though.

Stunning cathedral with incredible architecture and rich history. The interior is beautifully detailed, with grand altars, mosaics, and a massive organ. The highlight is definitely the climb to the dome—about 270 steps, but absolutely worth it for the breathtaking 360° panoramic view of Berlin. You can see the TV Tower, Reichstag, and the Spree River from the top. Great spot for photos and a unique perspective of the city. Definitely visit on a clear day for the best experience. One of the top landmarks in Berlin—both spiritually moving and visually unforgettable. Highly recommended!
