we had overestimated the place. so many good reviews made us want to go there. there is nothing on the outside. The second floor has beautiful glasses that they had maintained since ages but we did not feel the ticket price was worth it. Paris is beautiful so many churches and cathedrals, I would skip it if you have a short trip. we bought our ticket in advance.

Very beautiful. The chapel features 13th-century stained glass, with 15 towering windows that depict over 1,100 biblical scenes. At first, I thought, “Great, another church… okay, let’s go.” But once inside, it completely took me by surprise. It’s truly a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of color—light pours through the stained glass and transforms the space into a vivid, ever-shifting tapestry. Tip: Buy tickets ahead of time. We didn’t, and ended up waiting about 45 minutes in line. You will need to go thru a police bag check to get into the general area and there will also be a scan while getting into the building.

This church is truly a hidden gem that leaves visitors amazed. The chapel’s stunning stained glass windows are its main attraction, showcasing vibrant colors and intricate medieval designs that create a magical atmosphere inside. Even though it’s a relatively small space, the history and artistry packed into it make it a must-visit for anyone interested in architecture or Parisian history. I'm using Paris Museum Pass, it allows me to skip the long ticket lines, however, even if you book in advance, you have to wait in the specific line assigned to your booked time, you can’t enter directly. Also, early access is not possible, they follow your reservation time strictly. Remember to make a reservation online in advance. This helps secure entry at a preferred time and avoids the stress of waiting in crowds, which can get quite busy, especially during peak tourist seasons. The chapel is located on Île de la Cité, near other famous landmarks like Notre-Dame, making it easy to include in a day of sightseeing. The visit doesn’t take long, usually under an hour, but it leaves a lasting impression thanks to the breathtaking stained glass that tells stories from centuries ago. Overall, Sainte-Chapelle is a fantastic stop for travelers. I enjoyed a smooth and memorable experience exploring one of the city’s most beautiful and historic sites.
