A truly incredible experience getting to come to this museum. The one downside is that you’ll never be able to see everything that’s in there in one day. Be ready to walk my wife and I walked 12 miles just inside, attempting to see everything the museum had to offer. I hope one day that I’ll be able to come back and see the museum again.

Key highlight is probably Mona Lisa but there are plenty of other famous artworks around. This place is huge and i highly recommend the audio guide. Part of the museum pass but remember to reserve your time slot so that you can get in.

I visited the Louvre with great anticipation, having purchased my tickets well in advance and booking an early time slot (10:30 AM) to avoid the crowds. Unfortunately, despite these preparations, I had to wait nearly 40 minutes in line just to enter. Within the first half hour of my visit, I found myself completely overwhelmed. It wasn’t just the intense heat (I visited during the canicule) but rather the sheer volume of people inside. I fully understand that the Louvre is one of the most visited museums in the world, but the uncontrolled crowds made it almost impossible to appreciate the incredible works of art. In front of the most famous pieces, like the Mona Lisa, the experience was chaotic. Visitors were pushing with their elbows, cutting in front of others, and treating the space more like a photo opportunity than a museum. It felt like a fight just to get a quick glimpse, let alone a moment to reflect or admire. What struck me even more was the contrast: while areas like the Mona Lisa room were suffocatingly crowded, other sections, such as the beautiful hall of French sculptures, were almost empty. It’s a real pity that the flow of people isn’t better managed. In my opinion, the staff needs to be more welcoming, but more importantly, there must be better crowd control and guidance throughout the museum. With a more balanced distribution of visitors, everyone would have the chance to enjoy the art, not just the most famous pieces, but the hidden gems too. More work is needed…
