This place is simply fantastic! You truly forget all your problems and daily tasks outside the zoo, because here you absolutely have to feed a giraffe, watch the penguins eat, see the elephants wander around and “communicate” with their own kind. Quietly observe the predators. We visit often, with the whole family. The ticket price might seem a bit high to a tourist, but in fact, it’s very typical and reasonable for Switzerland.

The zoo itself is nice and well maintained, but be prepared for a lot of walking — it’s quite spread out. Unfortunately, on the day we visited, many animals were not outside, probably due to the rainy weather, which is understandable. The biggest downside was the parking really not ideal. I’d definitely recommend coming early or, even better, taking public transport if you can. 🅿️ Overall, a decent experience, but best enjoyed on a dry day and with a bit of planning.

Such a great experience at the Zurich zoo. Loads of great exhibits. The Wallabee exhibit is wide open and the emu came right up. The lion/tiger/leopard exhibit spans quite a bit of area and even crosses OVER the path. Give yourself a lot of time as there is over ten hours of stuff to see and you will need to return. Food is expensive. Bring your own.
