You can take photos with the beautiful escalator without paying. But if you want to enjoy the view from the top, you’ll need to buy an extra ticket. It’s a building I’d recommend visiting at least once when traveling in Japan–Osaka.

Good views of the city, good day activity for those who have spent more time in Osaka and need something small to do. It is a great way to spend some time around Umeda Sky building and go shopping in the station. Definitely something that might be over blown and a bit touristy, but I had one last afternoon in Osaka and spent it around this area and it was fine. I would not make a special trip for this as it was purely for tourism. I went on a random weekday in the middle of the afternoon around 1 or 2 PM and it was not busy but I can imagine at Sunset it gets busy and on the weekends.

1/2025 A really unexpectedly nice place to spend part of your day. It's a brisk walk from the nearest train station but manageable. There are sights to see one the walk from the train station. I'm sorry i didn't notate the names of the station but I've included to and from pics from Umeda Sky. You can catch the Tom & Jerry train after you're done right across the way. A pleasant surprise. My friend took to the top while I indulged and relaxed at the mini theater, cafe, and restaurants.
