We came Osaka aquarium, Kaiyukan on the weekday but still have a lot of people. If you take a train, need to walk around 5 to 10 minutes from the closest station. If you don’t not buy a ticket in advance, you need to take quite long queue to buy a ticket. Staff at the ticket office was nice and detailed. They informed us for the time that we cannot get to the aquarium as they need to limit people to not be too crowded. Nevertheless, there was so much people when we get in the aquarium. It was very big and amazing . The tank and the hallway was designed to let people see all angle of the underwater world. The place is also clean and well organize. we spend time here around 1 and half hour.

Unfortunately the ticket website wasn't working on the day so everyone had to queue to buy tickets at the entrance - the queue was quite long but moved steadily with staff being very helpful. If you can, I would highly advise booking tickets online to avoid the queues as this is a very popular aquarium. The tanks are large and clean and the animals appear well looked after - we loved watching them swim, with the whale sharks and rays being our highlight. There is a large café and souvenir shop at the exit with lots of fun things available. We came during the June summer weather so the air conditioning and dimmed lighting inside were a huge relief!

Though I am not really a fan of seeing animals in captivity, I must agree that the aquarium is doing its best to provide valuable information to visitors on conservation and the wildlife. The place is very suitable for family and is wheelchair friendly. The entire Q aquarium is air conditioned, making it a suitable place to visit all year round. We did not purchase tickets in advance and queue for tickets in the morning. There is no fuss. We started queuing for our tickets at 1030hrs and we got in at 1100hrs. While waiting for our time slot for entry, we explore the area for photographic opportunities. It would be better to come in the afternoon where there is lesser crowds. We spent about 2.5 hours leisurely exploring the aquarium.
