Everything is pretty expensive here but the vibes are amazing. I got unagi-don for 1400¥ from the most adorable old lady. She made fun of me for leaving rice after I told her I was full. 10/10 would eat there again.

During my recent trip to Osaka, I explored Kuromon Ichiba Market, a vibrant marketplace renowned for its fresh seafood, street food, and lively atmosphere. Spanning approximately 500 meters, the market offers an array of culinary delights that cater to both locals and tourists. One of the highlights was sampling the takoyaki, a popular Osaka street food consisting of octopus-filled batter balls, topped with savory sauces and bonito flakes. The vendors prepared them fresh, resulting in a crispy exterior and a gooey, flavorful center. Another must-try was the Kobe beef skewers. Though on the pricier side, the tender, marbled beef melted in my mouth, justifying the cost. For seafood enthusiasts, the market offers a variety of options, including fresh oysters, uni (sea urchin), and grilled scallops, all prepared to order. Beyond the food, Kuromon Market also features stalls selling fresh produce, pickles, and traditional sweets like mochi. The friendly vendors often offer samples, allowing visitors to taste before purchasing. While the market can get crowded, especially during peak hours, the bustling environment adds to its charm. It's advisable to visit in the morning when the selection is freshest and the crowds are more manageable. In summary, Kuromon Ichiba Market provides an authentic taste of Osaka's culinary scene. Whether you're a foodie eager to try local delicacies or a traveler looking to immerse yourself in Japanese market culture, this destination is well worth the visit.
