This might have been one of my favorite places in all of Japan. It was such an amazing structure with so much beautiful history. The grounds themselves were massive and it was such a treat to be able to walk around the ground and inside the castle! The sheer size is amazing and photos don't do much justice to how grand this castle is! There are times where you will have to take your shoes off when inside and carry them in a plastic bag. The only thing that can be tough inside the castle is the very steep staircases. This will make it difficult for any mobility challenged individuals or just parents carrying toddlers or babies. I would highly recommend anyone visiting japan to visit here! It is a good stop from osaka to hiroshima as well. There are also gardens next door which offer very serene plant life!

The castle was very impressive, having been one of the few surviving castles in Japan. There was plenty of food and vending machines around the castle, and photo taking here was fabulous. Nearby is a busy street and a bit further out, a train station plus a mall. The castle is amazing!

An amazing sight to see as long as you don't mind the exercise. This is a very extensive place to visit, there are multiple buildings in the compound that you can visit. There's a rather long walk down the area where female servants and ladies in waiting were housed that has some great information scattered around and relics for you to see but you will have to remove your shoes before entering. The main keep of the castle is fully open to all visitors and is a very interesting journey to take, you just have to keep in mind that this building is also without shoes and there are a lot of steep wooden stairs. So make sure your socks or feet covers are not too slippery. The entire experience can last roughly 60-90 minutes depending on how interested you are in all of the exhibits.
